Gray Matter

Wow! My first blog! This is pretty fun and exciting. So this will be the start of hopefully many posts that have been initiated via my Political Science class at Metropolitan State College of Denver. For my peers...you already know this as we are all in the same boat now.

I must say that when I first read the assignment, I was intimidated and excited all at the same time as I have been dying to try blogging. I never imagined my first blog would be created with politics in mind but rather something more along the lines of relationships, fashion, friend dilemmas...you know, everyday regular stuff that extends beyond a Facebook status update. But with my ability to talk about virtually any subject under the sun, this promises to be quite the adventure.

The title, Gray Matter, seemed appropriate as in the past year I have realized that many of us in this country are confused about political issues, the structure of government, how and why to vote and it all comes back to the gray area that makes up the vast amount of space between the fine lined borders on each end of the political spectrum that I like to think are the only black and white existing in this mass confusion. That gray area leaves a lot of room for interpretation, arguing and division of our society rather than creating a unified nation.

I am a very open minded individual and I enjoy discussing interesting topics with people that can present intelligent ideas and commentary. I look forward to growing this blog into a place where we can discuss together, all that gray area that has confused so many of us and gain better understanding and clarity on the issues that affect our communities, our society and our nation.

  1. I love the layout of your blog, and the title is very clever. I am a first-time blogger as well, and I'm very excited for what is to come.

  2. Thank you! I have been toying with ideas all week with so much going on in this class and in Egypt right now. I am stuck on what to talk about first. Thank you for the pleasant commentary and I will be posting later tonight! Stay tuned...
