If any of you read the information contained in the link, I want to know your thoughts. Why do we continue to make this a priority? What do I mean by that? Well, dont get me wrong, I understand that 1) the U.S. is not the only country with intersests to protect, as many countries are involved in this now under the powers of NATO. 2) Something has to be done to get this piece of garbage out of power. And then I look at the footage of Japan, the live streaming videos of people residing in school gyms with little to no food. Many without shelter. Trains and buses and cars on top of what is left of homes, the aerial views of the forever geographic change to the shape of the country itself and farm fields that were their lively hood now, most likely, permanantly under the ocean...and people crying for help!
Where are the supplies? Where is the help? And WHY is it taking so long? Granted, I am not there and I am certain there are travel obstacles that are preventing supplies from getting to where they need to be, barriers to overcome as we saw with Katrina. Specifically it has been reported that regulations regarding imports are stopping aid from coming in. Really? Really...are there no exceptions when thousands of lives are at stake here. Its been 9 days. Seriously...are our worldy efforts and priorities that messed up that we are coming together to worry about a dictator and people who could honestly give a shit about our nation versus extending a helping hand to one of our closest allies? I don't get it and I wont pretend to. Nor will I pretend to support any of this nonsense in the middle east and surrounding areas any longer. My humanitarian nature has prohibited me from caring about what happens over there anymore. I have had two brothers serve and put their lives on the line for the USMC, I have seen first hand the resulting mental devestation and our family deals with the aftermath of the U.S. efforts to help these God forsaken nations. Our family being one of the lucky families that at least had our men come home alive. People don't get it. It's a religious ideology that cannot be reasoned with. If they are not playing by the rules, why are we?
Where are the celebs with their rich powers, their millions and their ability to orchestrate a relief effort for the Japanese people...who I might add, wait patiently for aid. Unlike what we saw in our own country during Katrina and the despicable behaviors of the thousands that were affected by that natural disaster behaving like animals, looting, rapping, and shooting at their own military who tried to bring then relief. The Japanese people DESERVE help. And the media...the media!!! Already looking to blame someone for the meltdown at the nuclear power plants. Seriously??? Were they really expected to withstand a 9.0 earthquake and a tsunami that traveled from an epicenter 231 miles out in the ocean to land in 15 minutes. The sheer force of the ocean at the speed of a jetliner was to be stopped? By who? Was the hand of God supposed to come down and make it all better? We are talking about the abilities of mankind versus the unstoppable force of Mother Nature at her finest hour.
I am disgusted beyond reason, not words if you cant tell. I realize it is not just the U.S that has their priorities ass backwards, it is this entire world.
